This is the seventh part of my Sailor Ink Studio swatch tests. The swatch cards shown are part of a lovely range of Pinky Browns. Incredible chromatography!
Sailor 873 – A heavy rust brown with mid browns and a stunning yellow at the outer edgeswhen blended with water. A black sheen in evidence. This is very heavy ink so there is a negligible effect subjected to bleach.
Sailor 573 – A gorgeous translucent brown with pinks and yellows in evidence in the watery areas. A neon gold effect when subjected to bleach. Beautiful!
Sailor 530 – A dusty red which bleeds out pinks and yellows at the outer edges when blended with water. A white gold effect when subjected to bleach. A black sheen in evidence.
Sailor 273 – A dusty brown purple pink that blends easily with water bleeding out grey browns and canary yellow. A very feint sheen in evidence with a white gold effect when subjected to bleach.
Sailor 930 – A gorgeous wholesome red that blends easily with water and feathers out pinks, greys and yellows. A feint sheen in evidence with a slight gold effect when subjected to bleach.
Sailor 437 – A deep dark red that blends easily with water and feathers out green with hints of yellow at the edges. A sheen in evidence with a white gold effect when subjected to bleach.
Sailor 673 – A walnut brown with hints of red that blends with water and bleeds out greys, pinks and yellow. A sheen in evidence. A neon white effect when subjected to bleach.
Sailor 973 – A rust red brown that blends easily with water and feathers out yellow at the edges. A sheen in evidence with a hint of gold when subjected to bleach.
Sailor 830 – A rust red brown that blends easily with water and feathers out pink and yellow at the edges. A dark sheen in evidence with a hint of gold when subjected to bleach.
All tests on Bockingford Rough 200lb watercolour paper with handwriting using a Noodler’s Creeper pen.
