Sailor Swatch Tests – Part 01

This is the first part of my Sailor Ink Studio swatch tests. The colours shown range from deep maroon through to deep maroon/purple and blue. What is instantly striking is the dramatic chromatography and heavy sheens.

Sailor 737 – A heavy and deep dark maroon that blends easily with water and bleeds out pinks and greens at the outer edges. A heavy green sheen in evidence indicating a heavily concentrated ink and hence the limited reaction with bleach.

Sailor 683 – A heavy and deep dark maroon with slightly more purple than the Sailor 737 that blends easily with water and bleeds out pinks and greens at the edges. A heavy green sheen in evidence indicating a heavily concentrated ink and hence the limited reaction with bleach.

Sailor 752 – A heavy and deep dark maroon/purple that blends easily with water and bleeds out pinks and pastel greens at the edges. A heavy green sheen in evidence indicating a heavily concentrated ink and hence the limited reaction with bleach.
