Ferris Wheel Press swatch testing Summer-Autumn 2026

Ferris Wheel Press (FWP) is a design and stationery company based in Markham, Ontario, Canada, and have been creating high-end stationery and fountain pen inks for more than ten years.

Just over three years ago I signed up to become a FWP Creative Ambassador with the deal being: I get my blog featured on their Creative Ambassador webpage; get sent a couple of bottles of ink each month which I then post and blog about; and, enjoy the added benefit of receiving a small commission should anyone buy product from reading my posts and using my discount code. In my opinion, I think they do a great job promoting fountain pens and inks and I’m happy to be an ambassador for them.

Here are nine recent swatch tests spanning Summer to Autumn 2026.

Brilliant Blue Boulevard This deep Royal Blue has a stunning rose gold shimmer with the hint of a red sheen. No chromatic behaviours of mention but there is a good reaction to bleach in the less concentrated areas of colour.

Moon Mist A deep Fuscia Pink with a rich and bountiful rose gold shimmer.

Batman This is the ink that goes with the Batman Pen which was all part of the Shadows Over Gotham City stationery project and I really wish I’d got hold of that Batman pen which are all now sadly sold. But there is some ink left! And it’s fab! It’s a chromatic black comprising blacks, greys, blues and purples with a silver blue shimmer!

Slytherin Perfectly designed for witches and wizards with grand dreams and cunning plans with a slightly darker twist, and the unrelenting ambition to chase them. Full bodied with a great tonal range, the ink reveals chromatic qualities of blue greens and turquoise with a generous silver shimmer to really make it pop. Dragons Hollow Stunning! A rich Merlot red with a slight green silver shimmer. No chromatic behaviours of mention but there is a slight green sheen and a reaction to bleach in less concentrated areas of colour.

Ashen Valour A deep teal with a slight green blue silver shimmer. And yes, there are chromatic behaviours in evidence too and a great reaction to bleach.

The Rise of Embers A vibrant orange coral ink with a gorgeous pink silver shimmer. No chromatic behaviours of mention but there is a good reaction to bleach in the less concentrated areas of colour.

Memories in Amber A rich yellow ochre ink with a great tonal range and a stunning gold/silver champagne shimmer. It’s worth checking this shimmer out as my image doesn’t quite do it justice. No chromatic behaviours of mention but there is a good reaction to bleach in the less concentrated areas of colour.

Starlit Banquet A stunning cobalt blue with a decent tonal range and a beautiful blue purple gold chameleon shimmer. Bleach works well too. Check the swatch detail for that shimmer.

Yet another stunning range of inks from FWP. They just keep on getting better. If you like what you see and are tempted to try something out, Ferris Wheel Press have given me a discount code that will get you 10-15% discount off their products. All you have to do is click here and use JA–NICK as the code. Enjoy their website, enjoy the inks and have fun!

And HEY! If you’re interested to know more about how to use fountain pen inks in more creative ways – whether it’s simply to observe their chromatic behaviours, or, to recreate one of my swatch cards, or, to learn how to use them in watercolour painting, illustration and calligraphy, why not check out my online course or, even better, sign up for a workshop?
