Nahvalur Voyage Cosmic Grey Cult Pens Exclusive

Nahvalur is a fairly new brand to me. They sent me some of their inks a few months back to swatch and review, which I did, and which I have to say I was impressed with. So when Cult Pens asked me to have a look at one of their pens I was intrigued to find out more.

The Voyage Cosmic Grey is part of an exclusive 2 pen collaboration between Nahvular and Cult Pens. First things first, the pen comes tatstefully packaged in a outer white box with the beautiful Nahvalur logo on the top and the collaboration script logos on the opening flaps and a more intricate box with lifting lid inside containing the pen.

Immediately I noticed that this pen is a piston filler, which is bang on trend, and also, just how well it has been put together. The acrylic body is made up of gorgeous swirling cosmic blues and greys with some serious shimmer sparkling from deep within the resin. The trim is chrome and very nicely finished on both the cap and the barrel.

To load the ink, gently twist the piston until it twists no more, dip the nib into the ink and gently twist the other way. The barrel fills very easily and there is transparent acrylic ring immediately above the thread on the barrel through which you can see the ink. Full instructions and warranty can be found in the box. The stainless steel nib (fine) is beautifully engraved and writing with it is smooth and easy.

And so to the verdict. I’m a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to pens but I have to be honest, this has been a most pleasant surprise. Retailing at £110.00 it’s a contemporary design, very well made and beautifully presented. It looks good, feels good and writes well. Many thanks to Cult Pens for giving me the opportunity to try out this pen.

Below are three fountain pen inks from the Nahvular range which I recently mixed together and created a colour wheel – just to demonstrate how lovely and versatile they are. And if you want a link to where to get them: Nahvalur Rover Shimmer Ink 20ml – Honeycomb
