And that’s a fact! Because of their dense colour saturation they have a phenomenal tonal range. I used Diamine Purple Pazzazz to create this gull. Using water, a watercolour paintbrush and a very weak solution of bleach the range is from almost black to the faintest of purple blues.
And there is, of course, gold shimmer in the dark areas of the wings too! Detailing was with a Noodler’s Creaper pen. The paper used was the Rhodia Pen and Ink Wash art book.
