Adam Whittaker from Exaclair has very kindly sent me a sample of the new metallic ink from Herbin to test – Cornaline d’Egypt – part of a new range I assume, of 1798. Now whether or not this is as good as some of the recent Diamine Shimmer inks is up to you to decide? The colour is vivid and certainly reminiscent of Noodler’s Apache Sunset.
Of course Herbin are always going to have a mountain to climb after releasing Emeraude de Chivor and that will always be the yardstick by which these new and future metal inks will be judged. All things considered, it’s another good addition to their metallic ink range although from the metallic point of view, possibly their weakest one of the genre at this moment in time.
