Diamine Amazing Amethyst – The Kraken Wakes

Just before I crack on with the Private Reserve tests I thought I’d post this – a little fun test art featuring the Kraken using my new pet favourite fountain pen ink Diamine Amazing Amethyst – and it really is amazing! Reacts beautifully with bleach; has a great tonal range; chromatically breaks down into pinks and cyan blues; AND, you even get a green sheen with the deal. Add this to the fact that Diamine Amazing Amethyst mixes readily with Schmincke copper dust too… and you really have got a lot of bang for your buck. See what you think!

If you’d like to know more about this and what I’m doing with fountain pen inks, please take a look at the Mission Statement.

Artwork and test on Bockingford 200lb watercolour paper using a watercolour brush and dip pen with titanium zebra G flex nib.

Just for the record – I do this for myself, I receive no remuneration what-so-ever and I tell it exactly how I see it.

PS – I will shortly be on the scrounge for the complete range of Herbin fountain pen inks to test. Happy to pay for sample vials if anyone can help out?
