These ‘Scented’ inks are some of the De Atramentis gift range and feature a whole range of different smells. It could well be that as I only have small vial samples, some of the smells have diminished. One thing is for certain, many of the samples smell the same – of sweet bubblegum. NOT all, but many. Cola and Patchouli were by far the most distinct. But as you may be aware, this is a visual project and not an aromatic one!
As pointed out in the previous post, many of these colours are similar to the standard range so I won’t go into too much detail. The scented collection has a wide range of colours – whether the colours truly represent many of the flowers and fauna is up for discussion. Certainly, all of the inks blend with water well and many of the colours reveal hidden colours in their make up. All of the inks respond to bleach – turning a white gold. The bleach struggles on some of the darker inks, in the more concentrated areas, and works better in the lighter areas. All of the inks write well with a good flow through the nib and excellent legibility.
