It could be that I’ve been up to my neck in the day job for the last 2 weeks and the continuity has lapsed, who knows? I didn’t warm to these inks at all. They were very hard work. They didn’t mix with water that readily and I found them difficult to write with on watercolour paper. Both brands were almost identical in their ink behaviours. Look at the blacks – snap! Look at the Burgundy and Bordeaux – Snap! The blacks and green revealed a quirky cyan at the edges of the swatch breakdown – which was something. The pink was dead. They all reacted with the bleach and I tried a couple of test pieces – but they just didn’t want to happen. It could be as I said at the beginning but my gut feeling is that these are just writing inks, and that’s that.
