Huge thanks to Mishka for sending me samples of Pelikan Edelstein Amber and Turmaline. You can check out her site here – click. As per the other inks in the range I tested previously – click here to view – these two are equally as lovely and respond well to the test. As you can see, both reveal subtle hidden hues and react with bleach in a variety of ways from ochre golds to white neon. They both write well, with a constant flow through the nib.
From a creative angle, these bright vibrant inks are beautiful blenders. See test below: The background just happened and the foreground silhouette was achieved by using 3 layers of the Turmaline. I’m a great believer in less is more. Give it a try! Forgot to mention that I used a Desiderata pen with a zebra G nib for the detailing on a Bockingford watercolour paper.
