Fountain Pen Ink Art workshops are both fascinating and fun. I deliver these from my studio here in Rochester as well as on site for art groups, schools, organisations and businesses.
WORKSHOPS 2026 – Delivered at my studio here in Rochester
There are four different workshops available starting with the easiest first and running on four consecutive Saturdays in February and then repeating again in March. Please contact me with any questions.
Saturday 7th February – 1100hrs – 1400hrs
An introduction to fountain pen inks, paper types, tools and techniques. Culminating in mastering my creative swatch carding process. Ideal for all abilities. All materials supplied. Cost: £50 (Maximum of 6 students)
Saturday 14th February – 1100hrs – 1400hrs
An introduction to mixing the four primary colour fountain pen inks. You’ll learn how to create a colour wheel and create secondary and tertiary colours. To ensure that the skills have been learned you will then paint a goldfinch using the colours you mixed. Ideal for all abilities. All materials supplied. Cost: £50 (Maximum of 6 students)
Saturday 21st February – 1100hrs – 1400hrs
An introduction to the new Diamine nano pigment For Ever inks. You’ll be taught how to capture and illustrate your own scenes. You’ll be shown how to breakdown these inks and apply tones. You’ll be shown how to apply and edit dye base chromatic ink washes. Some previous ink experience would be advised in order to do this workshop. All materials supplied. Cost: £50 (Maximum of 6 students)
Saturday 28th February – 1100hrs – 1400hrs
An introduction to fountain pen ink art painting. You’ll be taught how to capture and illustrate your own scenes. You’ll be shown the logical sequences for achieving these chromatic artworks. You’ll be shown how to apply and edit dye base chromatic ink washes. You’ll be shown how to add detail to your scenes and handle bleach highlighting. Some previous ink experience would be advised in order to do this workshop. All materials supplied. Cost: £50 (Maximum of 6 students)
