Ferris Wheel Press (FWP) is a design and stationery company based in Markham, Ontario, Canada, and have been creating high-end stationery and fountain pen inks for more than ten years.
Just over two years ago I signed up to become a FWP Creative Ambassador with the deal being: I get my blog featured on their Creative Ambassador webpage; get sent a couple of bottles of ink each month which I then post and blog about; and, enjoy the added benefit of receiving a small commission should anyone buy product from my link(s). They do a great job promoting fountain pen inks as a creative medium and I’m proud to be an ambassador for them.
Here are seven swatched inks tested over the summer of 2025.

Serpent Blooms is a voluptuous orchid pink ink with a stunning duotone pink/green shimmer and is a Year of the Snake special edition. No chromatic effects in evidence but it does have a compelling neon white reaction with bleach.

Current Crumble Pie is a rich crimson red coloured ink with a very generous gold shimmer and a great reaction to bleach away from all that gold.
Citrine Mirage is a honeyed brown coloured ink with a neon reaction to bleach and a sophisticated looking duotone teal/pink shimmer. For the collectors, this part of the FerriTales 2025 Bestiary Collection.

Sprouting Pastures is a lively spring green ink with a pretty bronze shimmer and grading greens. Away from the shimmer there is a neon reaction with bleach too.
Buttered and Browned is a burnt golden brown ink with a hearty gold shimmer and some subtle chromatography colours including burnt orange, and olive green. Away from the shimmer there is a sharp reaction to bleach.

Phantom Mist is a gorgeous purple grey ink with a shed load of chromatic colours including pink and turquoise plus a stunning and VERY generous turquoise shimmer. A good reaction to bleach too. My pick of the bunch!
Astral Blue Odyssey is a rather lovely Royal Blue ink with a gentle bronze shimmer and a subtle red sheen. No chromatography here and a weak reaction to bleach.
Yet another convincing release of inks from FWP. And HEY! If you’re interested to know more about how to use fountain pen inks in more creative ways – whether it’s simply to observe their chromatic behaviours, or, to recreate one of my swatch cards, or, to learn how to use them in watercolour painting, illustration and calligraphy, why not check out my online course or, even better, sign up for a workshop?
